YouTube has a separate section with short vertical videos called Shorts. You can find the section in the bottom menu of the YT mobile application. When the format was just launched in beta mode, the authors uploaded short videos from the computer. It was necessary to save a vertical video in a horizontal format (with margins around the edges) and upload it like a regular video, but write a hashtag and the word shorts (#shorts) at the end of the title. With this hashtag, the video could get into the Shorts feed. Now we do not recommend doing this, because videos downloaded via a PC almost do not get into the Shorts section on the phone and do not gain views. It's best to post from your phone.

Technical requirements for short videos:

• aspect ratio: 9:16;

• minimum resolution: 720 pixels;

• video length: up to 60 seconds.

How to post Shorts from your phone:

Open the application, click on the + button. In the menu that opens, click on the "Create Shorts" item.

Next, open access to the camera and microphone, if you have not done this before. Record a video from the phone screen or upload it from the gallery. The camera can record video up to 15 or 60 seconds long (some users only up to 15 seconds). To record, click on the red button. You can also download videos from the device gallery. To download, click on the square in the lower left corner.
