Spotify and Apple Music is getting TikTok support

TikTok is joining forces with renowned music streaming platforms such as Spotify, Amazon Music, and Apple Music to launch a novel feature. This feature enables users to directly save tracks they discover in TikTok videos to their preferred music streaming service. This collaboration is significant as TikTok's role in shaping music trends and uncovering new talent is growing more pronounced. Its influence was notably reflected in Spotify's recent overhaul, inspired by TikTok, which introduced short-form content streams for music and podcasts.

Add to Music App function

The latest addition from TikTok, termed the "Add to Music app" feature, will be integrated as an "Add Song" button located beside the track title at the bottom of videos in the For You Feed. This allows users to effortlessly save songs to their chosen streaming service. Initially, users can select their preferred music service as the default option upon using the feature for the first time. Although Apple Music wasn't initially mentioned in TikTok's official announcement, it was later confirmed to be included after the news release, as evidenced in the provided screenshots.

Regarding Spotify, TikTok enthusiasts in both the U.S. and the U.K. can add tracks to their "Liked Songs" playlist. Beyond selecting a default music service during the first use, users can also adjust their preferences in the Settings menu under the "Music" section. Spotify has announced plans to expand this feature to additional regions progressively.
